Privacy and Protection of Personal Information

This website collects no personal information from you directly. There are no contact forms, no sign-up, no account and no newsletter.

If you email me at one of the addresses listed on the contact page, I receive whatever you put in that message — typically your name, your email address and what you have written. That information is held in my mailbox and used only to reply to you and to carry on the conversation you started.

This site sets no cookies and uses no tracking pixels, advertising tags or social media trackers. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

I use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It is designed to be privacy-preserving: it sets no cookies, creates no persistent identifier, and does not follow you across other websites. It cannot be used to identify you.

It records the page visited, the referring site, and a general location and device type. That is used only to understand whether the site is useful, and it is never combined with anything else.

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which operates servers outside Quebec, including in the United States. Loading a page means your IP address is necessarily seen by that infrastructure, as it is by any website you visit.

Typefaces are served from this site's own domain rather than from a third-party font service, so loading a page sends nothing to Google or any other outside provider.

No personal information is sold, rented or shared with anyone for marketing purposes. I run no advertising on this site.

Email correspondence is kept for as long as it remains useful to the matter you contacted me about, and is then deleted. Audience measurement data is retained by Vercel in aggregate form and holds nothing that identifies you.

You have the right to know whether I hold personal information about you, and to be given access to it. You have the right to have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete. You have the right to ask that it be deleted, and to withdraw consent to its use.

You may also ask that information about you cease to be disseminated, or that a link to it be de-indexed, where the conditions in the Act are met.

To exercise any of these rights, write to info@yvesbesner.com. I will respond within 30 days, as the Act requires. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may lodge a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Reasonable technical measures are taken to protect information, though no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

If a confidentiality incident occurs that presents a risk of serious injury, affected individuals and the Commission d'accès à l'information will be notified promptly, and a register of incidents will be maintained, as the Act requires.

This site links to prosomo.com, x-15.ca and LinkedIn. Those are separate organisations with their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them. X-15 Copilot in particular has its own policy covering member accounts and trading data.

This site is not directed at children, and no information is knowingly collected from anyone under 14.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will be described rather than made quietly.
